Developing a heightened awareness of your surroundings on the track, including the positions and movements of other cars.

These lessons aim to provide you with a well-rounded understanding of high-performance driving and the capabilities of a supercar. The goal is to enhance your driving skills, boost confidence, and promote safe and enjoyable track experiences. Remember, each program may have its own curriculum, so be sure to check with the 6th Gear Experience for details on what they offer.

Can I bring my own driving gear?

In most cases, supercar driving experience track days provide participants with the necessary driving gear, including helmets, suits, and other safety equipment, where required. This is done to ensure that all participants have access to appropriate and standardised gear that meets safety regulations.

However, policies can vary depending on the venue. It's recommended to check with 6th gear Experiencer beforehand to confirm their rules and regulations. 6th Gear Experience allows participants to bring their own helmets if they meet certain safety standards, but other gear like race suits and gloves may still be provided.

If you have specific gear that you prefer or if you have safety concerns, it's always best to communicate with us in advance to clarify their policies and discuss any exceptions. Keep in mind that safety is a top priority in these events, and we will typically have guidelines in place to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Is there a briefing on track etiquette?

Yes, on a supercar driving experience track day, it is common to have a briefing on track etiquette. Track etiquette is essential to ensure the safety of participants and to create an enjoyable and smooth experience for everyone involved. The briefing typically covers a range of topics, including:

  • Safety Regulations: Participants will be briefed on the safety regulations of the track. This may include information about track boundaries, pit lane rules, and specific safety measures in place.
  • Overtaking Procedures: Clear guidelines on how to overtake other cars on the track will be discussed. This is crucial for avoiding accidents and ensuring a smooth flow of traffic.
  • Right of Way: Understanding who has the right of way in different situations is important. This may include rules for merging onto the track from the pit lane, yielding to faster cars, and more.
  • Communication: The importance of clear communication between drivers and the track marshals will be emphasised. Participants may be provided with communication systems or hand signals to communicate with the instructor if needed.
  • Speed Limits: There may be designated speed limits in certain areas of the track, such as pit lanes or specific corners. Participants will be informed about these limits and the consequences of exceeding them.
  • Vehicle Features: A brief overview of the features and capabilities of the supercars being used, including any specific handling characteristics or considerations.
  • Behaviour Expectations: Participants will be reminded to conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner. Aggressive driving or behaviour that endangers others may result in penalties or removal from the event.
  • Emergency Procedures: In the event of an accident or emergency, participants will be instructed on the proper procedures to follow, including how to exit the vehicle safely and where to go in case of evacuation.

It's crucial for participants to pay close attention during the briefing to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience on the track. Following track etiquette not only enhances safety but also contributes to the overall positive atmosphere of the event.

What are the rules for overtaking on the track?

The specific rules for overtaking on a supercar driving experience track day can vary depending on the event and the track itself. However, there are some general guidelines and common practices that are typically followed:

  • Signal Intentions: Before attempting to overtake another car, it's important to signal your intentions. Your instructor will handle this part of the experience and advise what actions he requires you to undertake.
  • Choose Safe Zones: Overtaking is usually allowed in designated zones or straights where it is safe to do so. These areas are typically marked by 6th gear Experience. Overtaking in corners or other unsafe areas is prohibited.
  • Follow Track Rules: Always adhere to the specific rules of the track day event. 6th gear Experience provide an in car driver's briefing before the event, outlining the rules and guidelines that participants must follow.
  • Check Mirrors and Blind Spots: Before attempting to overtake ask your instructor. Your instructor will handle this part of the experience and advise what actions he requires you to undertake.
  • Maintain Consistent Speeds: The driver being overtaken should maintain a consistent speed to make it easier for the overtaking car to pass safely.
  • Stay Within Track Limits: Overtaking manoeuvres should be executed while staying within the track limits. Going off-track to overtake is typically not allowed and can be unsafe.
  • Give Room: When overtaking, provide enough space between your car and the one you are passing. This is crucial for safety, and aggressive or overly close overtaking is generally discouraged.
  • Communicate with Hand Signals: Some track day events may encourage the use of hand signals to communicate with other drivers. Learn and understand any specific hand signals that are recommended or required by your instructor.

It's important to note that the rules and guidelines can vary, so participants should always familiarise themselves with the specific regulations provided by the instructors on the supercar driving experience track day they are attending. Adhering to these rules ensures a safer and more enjoyable experience for all participants on the track.

Is there a place to eat or buy food at the venue?

The availability of food at a supercar driving experience track day can vary depending on the specific venue. All of our experience day facilities do provide on-site amenities, including food and beverage options.

Some venues may have a designated cafeteria or food stands where participants and spectators can purchase snacks and meals. Others may offer catering services or have partnerships with local restaurants to provide food options. In some cases, participants may need to bring their own food or make arrangements to purchase meals nearby.

To ensure a positive experience on the track day, it's advisable to inquire about food options when registering for the event or check the venue's website for information on available amenities. Additionally, contacting 6th Gear Experience directly can help you get the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding food services at the track day venue.

What kind of insurance do I need?

Participating in a supercar driving experience on a track day can be an exhilarating and enjoyable activity. However, it's essential to consider the appropriate insurance coverage to protect yourself and the vehicle in case of any unexpected incidents. Here are some types of insurance you may want to consider:

Liability Insurance:

This type of insurance covers bodily injury and property damage that you may cause to others while driving the supercar. The 6th gear Experience has liability coverage in place, but it's advisable to check and confirm the details.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW):

CDW is designed to cover the cost of repairs to the supercar in the event of an accident or damage during the track day. 6th Gear Experience offer CDW as an optional add-on, so you should inquire about it and consider purchasing it for extra protection.

Event Organiser's Insurance:

6th Gear Experience has Public Liability insurance coverage for participants. Always read the terms and conditions of any insurance policies carefully, and don't hesitate to ask questions to ensure you understand the coverage provided. Additionally, if you have concerns or specific insurance needs, consider consulting with an insurance professional for personalised advice.

Can I get professional driving tips?

Yes, most supercar driving experience track days provide professional driving instructors who can offer valuable tips and guidance to enhance your driving skills on the track. These instructors are typically experienced and knowledgeable in high-performance driving and can help you get the most out of your supercar experience while ensuring safety.

Here are some common tips you might receive during a supercar driving experience:

  • Proper Seating Position: Adjust your seat and steering wheel to ensure a comfortable and effective driving position. This includes having a slight bend in your elbows and a clear view of the instrument cluster.
  • Braking Technique: Learn how to modulate the brake pedal for smooth and effective braking. Understanding proper braking points is crucial for navigating corners at high speeds.
  • Smooth Steering Input: Avoid sudden and jerky movements with the steering wheel. Smooth and controlled inputs will help maintain stability and control of the car.
  • Look Ahead: Focus on looking ahead rather than just at the immediate surroundings. This helps you anticipate upcoming turns and obstacles, allowing for better planning and reaction.
  • Understanding the Racing Line: Instructed on the racing line – the optimal path around the track. This includes knowing where to position the car for entry, apex, and exit points in each corner.
  • Throttle Control: Learn how to modulate the throttle to achieve smooth acceleration out of corners. Proper throttle control is essential for maintaining traction and stability.
  • Weight Transfer: Understand how the car's weight shifts during acceleration, braking, and cornering. This knowledge is crucial for maintaining balance and control.
  • Handling Emergency Situations: Instructors may provide guidance on how to handle emergency situations, such as oversteer (rear wheels losing traction) or understeer (front wheels losing traction).
  • Use of Gears: If the supercar is equipped with a manual transmission, you may receive advice on proper gear selection for different parts of the track.
  • Feedback and Improvement: Instructors may provide feedback on your driving performance and suggest areas for improvement. Don't hesitate to ask questions and seek guidance on how to enhance your skills.

Remember to listen carefully to your instructor, be open to feedback, and most importantly, enjoy the experience responsibly and safely.

Are there any health checks before driving?

On a supercar driving experience track day, there are usually some basic health and safety checks before you are allowed to drive. These checks are primarily to ensure that participants are fit enough to handle the physical and mental demands of driving a high-performance vehicle at high speeds. Common health checks and requirements might include:

  • Medical Conditions Disclosure: Participants are often required to disclose any medical conditions that might affect their ability to drive safely. This could include heart conditions, epilepsy, severe vision impairment, and other significant health issues.
  • Age and Height Restrictions: There are usually minimum age requirements, and sometimes height restrictions, to ensure the driver can safely operate the vehicle.
  • Sobriety Tests: Track day experiences typically require drivers to be sober, and they may perform breathalyser tests or other sobriety checks.
  • Driver’s Licence Verification: A valid driver’s license is usually required to participate.
  • Briefing on Safety and Track Rules: This isn't a health check per se, but it's an important part of the safety protocol. Participants are briefed on track safety, how to handle the car, and what to do in case of an emergency.
  • Physical Fitness: While not always strictly checked, a basic level of physical fitness is assumed. Driving a supercar, especially at high speeds, can be physically demanding.
  • Insurance Waivers: Participants may be required to sign waivers acknowledging the risks involved and confirming that they have appropriate insurance.

It's important to note that the specific requirements can vary depending on the track. If you have any specific health concerns or questions, it's best to contact 6th Gear Experience directly before booking the experience.

Are there any specific driving shoes required?

For a supercar driving experience on a track day, while there are no strict requirements for specific driving shoes, it's highly recommended to wear appropriate footwear to enhance your driving experience and safety. Here are some key considerations for choosing the right shoes:

  • Thin Soles: Shoes with thin soles are preferred as they provide better pedal feel, allowing you to have more precise control over the throttle and brake pedals.
  • Narrow Design: Narrow shoes are ideal because they reduce the risk of accidentally pressing two pedals at once, which can be crucial in high-performance driving.
  • Firm Grip: The sole should have a good grip to prevent your foot from slipping off the pedals.
  • Comfortable and Lightweight: Comfort is crucial, especially if you’re going to spend a lot of time in the car. Lightweight shoes can also help in reducing fatigue.
  • Materials: Breathable materials like leather or certain synthetic fabrics are preferred for comfort, especially in warm conditions.

While dedicated driving shoes or racing boots are available and designed specifically for this purpose, they are not mandatory for most track day experiences. Regular sneakers that meet the above criteria can suffice. However, it's best to avoid bulky, heavy, or overly cushioned shoes like work boots or thick-soled running shoes.

It's also a good idea to check with 6th Gear Experience if they have any specific requirements or recommendations for footwear.

Is there a briefing on how to handle the supercar?

Yes, on a supercar driving experience track day, there typically is a briefing session before you actually get to drive the supercar. This briefing usually includes several important components:

  • Safety Instructions: Safety is paramount, so the instructors will provide guidelines on how to stay safe both in and out of the car. This might include instructions on what to do in an emergency, how to wear safety gear correctly, and track rules.
  • Track Layout and Guidance: You'll likely receive information about the track itself, including its layout, key turns, and areas where you need to be particularly cautious or can push the car a bit more.
  • Handling the Supercar: Supercars can be very different from regular cars in terms of handling, acceleration, and braking. The briefing might include specific advice on how to handle these high-performance vehicles, especially for those who are not used to driving them.
  • Driving Techniques: Instructors might offer tips on driving techniques that are specific to racing or high-performance driving, such as how to take corners, brake effectively, and accelerate smoothly.
  • Rules and Regulations: There will be rules specific to the experience, such as overtaking protocols, speed limits in certain areas, and signals from track marshals.
  • Q&A Session: Finally, there's usually a chance to ask questions to ensure you're comfortable and clear about everything.

Remember, each track and experience might have its own specific procedures and rules, so it's always good to listen carefully during the briefing and follow the instructions given by the professionals.

How early should I arrive before my slot?

For a supercar driving experience on a track day, it's generally advisable to arrive at least 45 minutes to an hour before your scheduled slot. This will give you enough time to complete any necessary paperwork, attend a briefing session where safety and driving guidelines are discussed, and get familiar with the event logistics.

Arriving early also allows you to check in, receive any required equipment or gear, and have a chance to ask questions or seek clarification on any concerns you may have. Additionally, it gives you the opportunity to mentally prepare for the experience and perhaps enjoy the overall atmosphere of the event.

Keep in mind that specific requirements and recommendations may vary depending on the particular experience day event, so it's always a good idea to check with the 6th Gear Experience for any specific instructions they may have provided.

Are there any discounts for groups?

Discounts for group bookings on supercar driving experience track days can vary depending on the specific company or organiser hosting the event. Many companies offer group discounts as an incentive for bringing in multiple participants. These discounts might apply when a certain number of participants register as a group.

To find out about group discounts, you should directly contact the organisation or company organising the supercar driving experience track day. You can check their official website, contact their customer service, or inquire when making a reservation. They will be able to provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information on any group discounts or special offers they may have available.

Keep in mind that the availability of group discounts can also depend on the size of the group and the specific terms and conditions set by the experience day organiser. It's always a good idea to communicate directly with the event organisers to get the most accurate and relevant information for your group.

What kind of driving licence is required?

Participants are typically required to have a valid driver's licence. The type of licence required may depend on the specific rules of the event and the country or region where it takes place.

Some events may have age restrictions, and participants may need to be a certain age to take part. It's essential to check the specific requirements of the experience day to ensure that you meet all the criteria.

Additionally, it's worth noting that individual supercar manufacturers or 6th Gear Experience may have their own eligibility criteria or restrictions. Always review the guidelines provided by 6th gear Experience of the particular track day you plan to attend to ensure that you have the necessary qualifications and meet any specific requirements they may have in place.

It's recommended to check with 6th Gear Experience facility in advance to inquire about the amenities they offer. We don't provide secure storage options, so we advise participants to leave valuable items at home or in their vehicles. It's always a good idea to clarify these details beforehand to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience on the track day.

Can beginners participate, or is it only for experienced drivers?

Many supercar driving experience track days are designed to accommodate both beginners and experienced drivers. These events are often structured to provide a safe and controlled environment for participants to enjoy driving high-performance vehicles, regardless of their level of experience.

Here's how it typically works:

  • Training Session: Beginners usually receive a training session before hitting the track. This session covers basic driving techniques, safety rules, and an introduction to the specific car they'll be driving.
  • Instructors: Professional instructors are often present during the track day to guide participants, especially those with limited experience. They may ride along with beginners or communicate through a two-way radio to provide real-time guidance.
  • Progressive Experience: The track day experience may be designed with progressive difficulty. Beginners might start with a few laps at lower speeds to get comfortable with the car and the track before gradually increasing the pace.
  • Safety Measures: Safety is a top priority, and the track is set up with safety measures such as barriers, run-off areas, and emergency services. Participants are typically required to wear safety gear like helmets.
  • Vehicle Restrictions: Certain track days may have restrictions on the types of cars beginners can drive. For example, some events may limit beginners to less powerful supercars or provide a selection of cars with varying performance levels.

Before signing up for a supercar driving experience, it's advisable to check the specific requirements and offerings of the event you're interested in. Some track days may also offer advanced sessions for experienced drivers looking to push the limits of both their skills and the car's capabilities. Always prioritise safety and follow the guidelines provided.

Are there any additional costs during the experience?

The specific details of a supercar driving experience day can vary depending on the company providing the experience. However, there are some common additional costs or considerations that you might encounter:

  • Insurance: Some track day experiences may include basic insurance coverage, but there might be options for additional coverage or upgrades. It's essential to check what is covered and whether you need to pay extra for better insurance.
  • Damage Waivers: Some companies offer damage waivers that can reduce or eliminate your financial responsibility if there is any damage to the supercar during your driving experience. This is often an optional add-on with an additional cost.
  • Upgrades: Depending on the package you choose, there might be opportunities to upgrade to a more expensive or higher-performance supercar for an additional fee.
  • Additional laps or time: Some packages include a specific number of laps or a set amount of time on the track. If you want to extend your driving experience, additional laps or time on the track may come with an extra cost.
  • Photos and Videos: 6th Gear Experience offers photography and video services to capture your driving experience. These services often come with an additional cost.
  • Food and Beverages: While some track day experiences include meals or refreshments, others may not. Check whether meals or snacks are provided, and if not, you might need to budget for food and beverages during the day.
  • Transportation: If the track is located some distance away from your location, you may need to consider transportation costs to and from the venue.

It's crucial to carefully read the terms and conditions of the specific supercar driving experience you're interested in to understand what is included in the base price and what might incur additional costs. Additionally, reaching out to the organiser directly to clarify any uncertainties is a good practice.

Can I get a video recording of my driving?

The availability of video recording during a supercar driving experience track day can vary depending on the specific track day organiser and the package you choose. 6th Gear Experience offers video recording services as part of premium packages or as an add-on option.

Typically, if video recording is available, it may involve mounting cameras on the car or providing in-car cameras to capture your driving experience.

To ensure you can get a video recording of your driving, it's recommended to check with the specific company you plan to book with. Review their package options, inquire about any additional video recording services, and clarify whether it's included in the package you choose or available as an add-on.

Keep in mind that offerings and policies may vary, so it's always a good idea to confirm these details directly with the experience day organiser.

Is there first aid on site?

Typically, reputable supercar driving experience track days prioritise participant safety, and many of them have first aid facilities or personnel on site. The specific arrangements can vary between different track day organisers, so it's advisable to check the details provided by the event or contact the organisers directly to inquire about their safety measures.

In general, professional track day organisers understand the importance of having medical support available, and they often have medical personnel or a designated first aid area to handle any emergencies or minor medical issues that may arise during the event. However, the exact level of first aid support can vary, so it's always a good idea to confirm this information before participating in a supercar driving experience.

What are the passing rules on the track?

The passing rules on a supercar driving experience track day can vary depending on the specific track. However, there are some common passing rules and etiquette that are typically followed to ensure the safety of all participants. Here are some general guidelines:

Point-by Passing:

Many track day events use a "point-by" passing system. This means that the driver who wants to pass signals their intention by pointing to the side they intend to pass on, typically using hand signals or a designated indicator.

The driver being passed should be aware of the signal and, if safe to do so, should maintain a consistent line and speed to allow the overtaking car to pass.

Designated Passing Zones:

Passing is usually only allowed in designated areas of the track called passing zones. These zones are often straight sections or areas with clear visibility where it's safer to overtake.

Communication:

Communication between drivers is crucial. Clear and unambiguous signals should be used to indicate the intention to pass or to acknowledge the intent to be passed.

No Blocking:

Blocking, or actively preventing another driver from passing, is generally discouraged and may be against the rules. Participants are usually expected to drive predictably and not make sudden moves to impede other drivers.

Awareness:

Both overtaking and slower cars should be aware of their surroundings. Mirrors should be checked regularly, and drivers should be mindful of faster cars approaching from behind.

Consistent Speed:

Participants are often encouraged to maintain a consistent and predictable speed. Sudden changes in speed or erratic driving can create dangerous situations on the track.

Adherence to Track Rules:

All participants are expected to adhere to the specific rules and guidelines set by the track. This may include safety briefings, speed limits in pit areas, and other track-specific regulations.

It's essential to check with 6th Gear Experience as to the event you plan to attend for their specific passing rules and guidelines, as they may have variations based on the track layout, the experience level of participants, and other factors. Following these rules ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone on the track.

How is the track layout and difficulty?

The layout and difficulty of a supercar driving experience track day can vary depending on the specific venue. However, I can provide you with a general overview of what you might expect.

Track Layout:

  • Design: Tracks can range from simple oval circuits to more complex layouts with a combination of straights, chicanes, hairpin turns, and elevation changes.
  • Variety: Some tracks are designed to offer a mix of technical and high-speed sections to test the capabilities of the supercars.
  • Features: Some tracks may have features like long straights for speed, tight corners for manoeuvrability, and sweeping turns for handling.

Difficulty:

  • Beginner-Friendly: Many supercar experience track days are designed to be accessible to drivers with varying skill levels, including beginners. There are often briefings and training sessions to help participants familiarise themselves with the car and the track.
  • Intermediate Challenges: While the experience is tailored for a broad audience, some tracks may include sections that pose a moderate challenge to drivers with more experience.
  • Advanced Options: Some track days may offer advanced driving experiences for those with more skill and confidence, allowing for faster speeds and more demanding manoeuvres.

Safety Measures:

  • Safety Briefings: Participants typically receive safety briefings before hitting the track. This includes information on track rules, driving techniques, and emergency procedures.
  • Professional Instructors: Instructors may be available to guide participants, especially those new to high-performance driving, providing tips on handling the car and navigating the track safely.
  • Safety Barriers: Tracks usually have safety features such as runoff areas, gravel traps, and barriers to minimise the risk of accidents.

Car Rotation:

Variety of Supercars: Participants often have the opportunity to drive multiple supercars during the event, allowing them to experience different models and their unique characteristics.

Duration:

Session Length: Track days typically consist of multiple driving sessions throughout the day, with each session lasting a certain amount of time. This gives participants the chance to rest between sessions.

It's important to note that the specific details can vary, so it's recommended to check with the event organiser for precise information about the track layout, difficulty level, and any additional features or experiences offered during the supercar driving event.

Are there instructors for different languages?

While the availability of instructors who speak different languages may vary depending on the specific supercar driving experience day, many such events commonly have instructors who are proficient in multiple languages. The goal is to cater to participants from diverse backgrounds and ensure clear communication about driving techniques, safety guidelines, and other relevant information.

It's a good practice for organisers to have a team of instructors with language proficiency in order to enhance the overall experience for participants who may not be fluent in the primary language spoken at the event. However, the specific languages offered may depend on the demographics of the participants and the policies of the organising company.

If language support is crucial for you, it's advisable to check with the event organisers beforehand to confirm the availability of instructors who can communicate effectively in your preferred language. This information is typically provided on the event's website or can be obtained by contacting the organisers directly.

Your Guide to a Supercar Driving Experience Day

Rewind about fifteen years or so and there was little in the way of a fast car driving experiences available in the UK. The best supercar driving experience days didn’t even include iconic supercars from manufacturers like Lamborghini or Aston Martin.

6th Gear Experience was founded to change all that – even being the pioneers of junior driving experience days. Aimed purely at children between the ages of 10-16 with a minimum height of 4ft 10 and are now hugely popular with over 4000 juniors being customers of ours annually.

As trends change, certain supercars become more popular than others. For example, when a new James Bond film is released, an Aston Martin experience is always a big draw. The Aston Martin DB9 driving experience makes a fantastic gift for someone special, and since we have the full fleet from this famous British manufacturer, an Aston Martin driving day in general is a fantastic thrill. So what should you look out for when searching for a supercar driving experience day or indeed just a supercar experience?

Well there seems to be a lot of choice out there, but most of the names tend to be third party agencies whilst there are very few companies who actually put on the experience days themselves. 6th Gear Experience is of course one, and having gained the prestigious TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence awards four years running is without doubt the company to turn to when making your choice. Supplying nearly all the major high street retailers and the large internet based agencies, we have carved a reputation in the industry as the best value for money by far. With an up to date modern fleet of supercars we now offer the best driving experience days bar none.

Popular Supercars Right Now

The Audi R8 driving experiences, together with the Ariel Atom driving experience are the most popular supercar experience. Followed closely by our Ferrari 458 experience. The Ferrari 458 driving experience is lauded as being the best modern Ferrari of recent times. Once again since we own and operate a full fleet of Ferrari’s, if you know someone with a passion for this great Italian manufacturer, this gift will make you very popular indeed! Interestingly, one of our increasingly popular sellers is the lorry driving experience. In fact lorry driving experience days are such fun they seem to appeal to all ages! From a 12 year old boy to an 80 year old lady, we’ve been amazed at the sheer uniform appeal of our exclusive lorry driving experience. Ok so you don’t get to go 100mph in a 40 ton truck, but trundling along come rain or shine in a DAF truck with 16 automatic gears is truly enormous fun. It looks like 2024 is already popular with those wishing to undergo the fabulous Lamborghini driving experience. Traditionally, this is one of our top sellers and this is reflected in the fact that kids also seem to want to involve themselves in our junior Lamborghini driving experience. As long as they are at least 5ft they can actually drive a Lamborghini equipped with dual controls and an instructor sat in the passenger seat watching their every move!

Back in the early 2000’s a Ferrari driving experience was far and away the top selling car driving experience. It’s interesting as we have mentioned before, how trends and tastes change over the years. We had a Nissan GTR join our fleet in 2019 which customers went crazy for! Due to the massive popularity and high demand, within 2 months we had added another one to the fleet. The R35 has been an excellent addition to our fleet, with many customers paying extra on the day to drive one.

Supercar driving experiences are also far more widely known because of TV programmes like Top Gear which help drive the driving day experiences market. Just searching driving experience days UK brings up a raft of entries many of which are provided exclusively by 6th Gear. This makes a driving gift a fantastic present, whether for birthdays or Christmas

Typically on a 6th Gear Experience event day, facilities are second to none with great quality catering available, a large marquee to provide cover from that inclement weather we are all used to here in the UK. Other optional extras such as Pay and Drive are available on the day aimed at those who wish to drive extra supercars as well as their pre-booked choices. Friends and family are all welcome and if they bring their driving licence too they can pick a supercar and also partake in a fast car experience too.

There is a difference though between a supercar day and a race day experience.

6th Gear Experience doesn’t really cater for hardened track enthusiasts – we leave this to others. What we do superbly is to provide a supercar track day experience usually as a gift, for someone who is very special.

We get asked often at 6thgearexperience how much a supercar driving experience costs. Of course many of our valued customers will spend as little at £59 or so purchasing a Ferrari experience for a family member for example. Others will go to the extreme and spend £495 or more on what may end up being a full day driving experience. Driving experience days for two are also catered for by 6thgearexperience. Perhaps that someone special in your life fancies an Audi driving experience while you yourself might crave the more traditional Aston Martin driving experience. We can cater for everyone!

At 6th Gear HQ (in Solihull), our friendly call centre staff will endeavour to answer all your queries. They are used to being asked a variety of questions from where exactly are the venues, which Supercars are the best to drive, to how fast are they willing to let me drive. Working hands on with our garage team, our customer service team are more than happy to help any question that you may have!

In the first few years of 6th Gear’s existence, the company operated solely from Elvington which was so popular with customers looking for driving experience days York. It was here in fact that we ran our first driving experience days for kids which at first only included the Ferrari, but then expanded to include more variety of supercars to drive.

We operate from various super UK circuits. Head over to our Locations page to see exactly which tracks we run at. We’ve already covered how a race car experience doesn’t really describe what we do here at 6thgearexperience. What we do exceptionally well is to provide superb supercar drive days for the general public many of whom are simply not experienced in getting behind the wheel of a 200mph supercar.
