Learn About 6th Gear Experience!

6th Gear was formed over 2 years ago by Andrew Cummings (Operations Director) and Simon George (Marketing Director). Andrew is a well known competitor in the Porsche challenge cup series and ran a successful Engineering company for many years. Simon was previously a property investor as well as running a string of 'Subway' restaurants, but is perhaps best known for being a contributing writer over many years to the best selling car magazine 'Evo'.

Since 6th Gear took off in mid 2007 the company has won accolades from all quarters for its professionalism, slick operation and exceptionally high standards of customer service. Asda, Woolworths and Argos now use the company to provide their own Supercar Experience days through well known successful agencies such as 'Buy a Gift' and 'Trackdays.co.uk'. 6th Gear has also featured in articles published in the Yorkshire Post, Solihull Observer and Birmingham Post as well as Business Magazines plus many more.

Currently 6th Gear employs about 20 part time Instructors and 10 other staff on event days, that in addition to our full time Office Manager Victoria Possnett who is based at our Midlands office, and not forgetting Leo the company cat.

The company has an on going marketing strategy of placing Supercars in up market shopping centres where our promotional staff retail gift vouchers which the recipients can redeem up to 10 Months later. During the rest of 2008 our Supercars can be seen permanently (apart from event days of course) at the York Designer Outlet just off the A64 in York, Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull, as well as Birmingham and Leeds City Centres on selected dates up to Christmas.

The 'Junior Ferrari' idea has proved astonishingly popular, with 6th Gear having to purchase a second Ferrari just to keep up with demand. Interestingly the idea came about after a rival company ran a similar event alongside its adult experiences, in Peugeot 206's. Of course 6th Gear had to go one better, and after equipping one of its Ferrari's with dual controls and a booster seat, the phone has never stopped ringing..
